Estimados !!!
Les cuento que hace poquito me llego mi XPS, esta muy rico! todo muy bien anda filete exepto por.... ADIVINEN! jaja si EL FUCKING VISTA!

No se pq no me deja instalar muchas cosas, osea las instalo pero no me funcionan bien, sobre todo los juegos Y LOS PROGRAMAS DE DISEÑO!
NO me deja instalar NADA DE ADOBE, solo acrobat.

la cuestión es que me chatie y quiero ponerle XP.
Mi problema es que noe stan los drivers del modelo, solo del XPS 1330.
E AQUI LA PREGUNTA.

Servirán los mismos drivers del XPS 1330 para el XPS m1530!?!?!?!

Si son los mismo lo descargo y listo?
Si no es así tengo q hacer algo?
Ayuda porfa compañerillos! Espero su respueta para terminar con este problema de una vez por todas!

Aqui encontre una pagina en ingles eso si, aun se estan probando... http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=193815 casi al final de la pagina estan los driver para xp. Espero que esto sirva.

tiene q ser xp 32 o puede ser el 64?

tambien encontre esto en el foro de dell. haber si alguien la puede hacer, pq yo no cacho mucho.

Below is what I had to do to install Windows XP on a Dell M1530 with only an Windows XP SP 1 CD (The greatest form of flattery is plagiarism Raymond ;-)

Procedure:
Receive new laptop from Dell with OEM drivers and Windows 32 bit Vista installed on it.
Start up computer with Windows Vista turn on wireless ensure Bluetooth is functioning

One note to the installation of the Network-Wireless 335 Bluetooth Module driver, You should make sure the Bluetooth is remains ON the last time in Vista before installing the XP. Otherwise the Bluetooth is no way to be turned on in XP and be discovered as new hardware.

Modify BIOS setting

Since XP SP2 installation CD doesn't support SATA HDD at that moment, we need to disable SATA and set back to ATA mode for entire XP installation:
1. Boot and press "F2" to enter BIOS setup menu
2. Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module: Change to "Enabled" to "Off"
3. Onboard Devices -> SATA Opteration: Change from "AHCI" to "ATA"
4. System -> Boot Sequence: Move "CD/DVD/CD-RW" item up to the top
5. Press "ESC" and choose "Save/Exit" to save and exit BIOS

Restart -> insert Windows XP install CD
F12 -> Change boot sequence -> boot from CD
Disk Partition as you deem appropriate
Follow Windows XP install procedure
Patch Windows to SP2
Install divers in the following order. Copy all the downloaded driver source into the PC. Install the driver one by one and reboot the system once and once as required. Suggested driver installation order: (The R~.EXE drivers are Dell nearly all are under M1330 Windows XP driver page)

R141246.EXE - Ricoh Memory Card
R173730 .exe - nVidia GeForce 8400M (used for 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT)
R127314.EXE - Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (had to search Dell for this one)
R155586.EXE - Dell Touchpad / Pointing Stick
R167854.EXE - Marvell 88E80XX 10/100 Ethernet Controller (found under the Vista 32 driver page)
R158235.EXE - Sigmatel STAC92XX C-Major HD Audio Driver
11.5.0.0_x32.exe - Intel Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (http://www.intel.com/network/connectivity/products/wireless/wireless_n/overview.htm)
2[1].8_package.zip - Fingerprint scanner driver UPEK-TouchChip Fingerprint Coprocessor (http://www.upek.com/support/downloads/drivers/windows.asp)
Insert and install Dell WebCam Manager (CD provided with new laptop)
R165116.EXE - Creative Labs Laptop Integrated Webcam
Insert and install Roxio Creator & My DVD 9.0 DE (CD provided with new laptop)

Special handling of SATA driver

To install Intel 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller driver, execute kim06ww.exe (http://www-900.ibm.com/cn/support/do...Id=XJCI-6N5C5P) (Yes this page is in Chinese ;-) to unpack the driver.
Run C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM\PREPARE\install.cmd.
Reboot the laptop.
Press "F2" to enter BIOS menu again, enable the "FLASH CACHE MODEL" and change "ATA" to "AHCI", remember to SAVE and exit BIOS.
Reboot the laptop again.
Entering XP, the system will discover a new PCI hardware, browse the driver in the C:\DRIVERS\WIN\IMSM\ folder to install the actual SATA driver.
Reboot the laptop again.

Restore BIOS setting

1. Boot and press "F2" to enter BIOS setup menu
2. Onboard Devices -> Flash Cache Module: Change to "Enabled" to "Off"
3. Press "ESC" and choose "Save/Exit" to save and exit BIOS

Windows Updates (yada yada)

Por Lo Que Veo En Ese Procedimiento Que Tu Conseguiste Con Las Letras Rojas, No Se Ve Que Este Muy Complicado, Ya Solo Estoy Esperando Recibir A Que Los Put0s De Dell Se Les De La Gana Mandarme Mi M1530 Para Hacerlo, En Cuanto Pueda Hechar Andar El Xp Al 100% Te Digo Como Le Hagas!!. Por Lo Pronto Ya Baje Todos Los Drivers Que Dice Tu Procedimiento(ya No Mas Falta Que Jalen) El Mas Perro De Descargar Fue El Del "sata" Pero Ya Lo Consegui. Gracias Por La Info.

que tal amigos? soy nuevo en el foro y tenia la misma inquietud de ustedes con respecto de como cambiar el vista en la m1530, bueno hoy despues de una intensa jornada de instalar y desintalar drivers lo consegui!! segui exactamente los pasos que publico rulo hace unos dias y no tuve problemas de ningun tipo, a excepcion del driver sata de la pagina en chino que fue un hueso duro de roer, asi como la restauracion del bios. ya tengo mi xps m1530 trabajando al 100% con windows xp!!! ahora si a instalar lo que se nos venga la gana. pueden intentarlo con seguridad, eso si hagan un backup de sus archivos importantes por si sucede algo imprevisto. saludos foreros!!!

Buen dia amigos; Tengo un portatil XPS M1530, segun lo publicado anteriormente en el foro, ya varios han podido migrar, pero aun me falta algunos driver.

1- driver de nVIDIA NB8M-GS (G86M)
2- CONTROLADORA DE ETHERNET

les cuento que estoy haciendo la migracion a xp, ya tengo todos los drivers, pero tengo una duda, que hago con las particiones que estan ocultas, o sea las elimino o el xp las reconoce ???
los que ya han realizado el cambio que han hecho.

DESPUES DE UNOS LEVES PEDOS YA INSTALE EL XP EN MI M1530, BASANDOME EN EL PROCEDIMIENTO QUE PUSO EL "RULO", QUE ENCONTRO EN EL FORO DE DELL, SI FUNCIONA!!!.

LO UNICO EXTRAORDINARIO AL PROCEDIMIENTO ESE, FUE QUE NO ME FUNCIONO EL TECLADO&MOUSE(CON ESE DRIVER NO ME JALO LO DEL DESPLAZAMIENTO HOR-VER)===>R166314.EXE<==(A MI ESTE SI ME FUNCIONO MUY BIEN); El Fingerprint reader suite(tampoco jala el que biene en el procedimiento)===>R168308.EXE<===(ESTE ES EL QUE ME FUNCIONO A MI). AMBOS LOS ENCUENTRAS EN LA PAGINA DE SOPORTE DELL METIENDO EL MODELO DE LA M1530.

TAMBIEN BATALLE PARA ENCONTRAR EL DEL ATA AHI LES DEJO EL LINK QUE LOS DESCARGA DIRECTO:

veo que muchos se estan pasando a xp.. yo llevo algunos dias con vista y estoy muy conforme. es verdad que consume mas memoria ram pero en verdad en mi caso ha sido muy estable y eso que tengo la version basica... solo me falta encontarar antivirus, el kaspersky me fallo .. habra que buscar la version compatible
